Job description

Do you want to contribute to a more sustainable world? Are you excited to deploy computational chemistry and materials science to help shape the future of battery technology and consequently the future of consumer electronics and mobility?

About LeydenJar
LeydenJar aims to become the world’s innovation leader in advanced battery anodes to energize batteries for human progress. High energy density of battery cells is an urgent and unmet need for a wide range of industries from consumer electronics to electric vehicles. By addressing the bottleneck of the battery anode, LeydenJar can improve this by 50-70% in an industry that can only improve 3% per year. Our pure silicon anode is regarded as the holy grail to achieve this in the battery industry. Progress is not only about enabling new products, it also means a more sustainable supply chain, resilience and access to battery technology in geopolitical context and enabling electrification.

Your mission

The Head of Asia, Pacific & West Coast Sales will lead revenue growth for LeydenJar’s 100% silicon anode products across key consumer electronics customers in California (and the greater west coast of the US) while managing strategic commercial and supplier relationships with China-based cell manufacturers. This role is responsible for driving design wins, managing key accounts, negotiating supply and pricing frameworks, and aligning commercial strategy between customers and upstream cell suppliers.

The ideal candidate combines strong consumer electronics sales leadership with a deep knowledge of silicon anode lithium-ion cell technology, the Chinese cell supplier ecosystems, and is fluent in both English and Mandarin.

This role is part of LeydenJar’s U.S. entity and is based in Tacoma, Washington.

Your responsibilities:

West Coast Commercial Strategy

  • Develop and execute the West Coast commercial strategy for consumer electronics customers, including OEMs, ODMs, and technology platforms.

  • Drive new design wins, long-term supply agreements, and multi-year revenue growth.

  • Build and lead strategic relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 consumer electronics companies.

  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and operations to align customer requirements with product roadmaps and manufacturing capabilities.

  • Provide monthly customer demand forecasts from OEM’s to determine capacity planning and internal manufacturing capacity requirements

  • Provide market intelligence on consumer electronics trends, battery technology evolution, and competitor activity.

China Cell Supplier Commercial Responsibility

  • Own commercial relationships with China-based lithium-ion cell suppliers (LFP, NMC, silicon-anode, and emerging chemistries). Negotiate pricing frameworks, volume commitments, and long-term strategic agreements with suppliers.

  • Coordinate supplier strategy with internal procurement, operations, and quality teams.

  • Monitor supplier technology roadmaps, cost trends, and capacity expansion plans.

  • Mitigate geopolitical, regulatory, and supply chain risks through supplier diversification and contingency planning.

Job requirements

About you:

  • 10+ years of experience in sales, commercial leadership, or business development in batteries, electronics, semiconductors, or related hardware sectors.

  • Proven track record of managing Tier 1 consumer electronics OEM/ODM accounts.

  • Experience working directly with China-based cell manufacturers or Asian supply chains

  • Strong negotiation experience with multi-million-dollar supply agreements and pricing frameworks.

  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally, including frequent trips to China.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field

  • Fluency in Mandarin and Standard American Business English

    Key Competencies

  • Strategic account management and executive-level customer engagement

  • Global supply chain and supplier negotiation

  • Consumer electronics market dynamics

  • Cross-cultural leadership and international business acumen

  • Commercial strategy, pricing, and contract structuring

  • Team leadership and organizational development
