  • Location: Amsterdam-based position (you should have the right to work in the Netherlands)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week

  • Contract duration: This role will initially be offered as a 6-month maternity cover. That said, we are hiring with a long-term view. If there is mutual enthusiasm to continue, there is a possibility for the role to become a fixed position.

About your role
The Website Product Owner is responsible for the vision, strategy, and execution of Fairphone’s direct sales channel www.fairphone.com. As part of the eCommerce team you will be bridging the gap between business goals, user needs, and technical feasibility.

Working closely with the Head of eCommerce, Digital Product Designers, CRO Specialist, and UX Researcher, you will own the Roadmap and prioritize the backlog to ensure we are building the right features at the right time. Your ultimate goal is to drive conversion and advocacy through a transparent, high-performing web platform.

Key Objectives
  • Increase Website Conversion Rates:
    • Phones, Audio and all transactions for entire website and separate PDPs
  • Increase Website CSAT score
  • Optimise Checkout (CES) for friction-free purchasing
  • Increase Website Speed and SEO
  • Decrease Website Cart and Checkout abandonment
Key Responsibilities
  • Define and share Product Vision.
  • Develop and maintain the website product roadmap and backlog.
  • Define user stories and acceptance criteria for website features and optimizations.
  • Prioritize backlog items based on business value, user impact, and technical feasibility.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the development team, keeping them safe from external requests.
  • Act as project manager towards several stakeholders, like product, brand&marketing and customer service to gain input and keep your planning on track.
  • Monitor website performance and user feedback to identify areas of improvement.
  • Organize scrum meetings; daily stand-ups, sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and retros.
  • Communicate pro-actively on product updates and progress to stakeholders.
  • Ensure the website complies with relevant accessibility and legal standards.
Your Skills & Experience
  • Product Management: Proven experience managing a consumer-facing website in an Agile/Scrum environment. And the ability to prioritize and manage a product backlog effectively.
  • Stakeholder management and communication: Strategic capability to identify, engage, and align a diverse group of individuals around a single product vision.
  • Data & Analytics: Proficiency in Google Analytics, Looker, or similar tools to translate data into product decisions.
  • Technical familiarity: You can follow a technical discussion about APIs, frontend vs. backend limitations, database logic, etc. You know how to ask the right questions to uncover technical risks or dependencies.
  • SEO & Content Marketing: Ability to prioritize technical SEO requirements and collaborate with content teams to ensure the website serves organic growth.
  • Strategic prioritization: Strong ability to say ‘no’ to low-value requests and justify decision making
  • Agile Expertise: Deep knowledge of Scrum ceremonies and the ability to get the team toward higher velocity and quality.
  • Future-ready Mindset: You are excited about how AI is changing product management and know how to leverage AI to scale your work.
