About your role
As Technical Delivery Manager for New Product Introductions (NPI), you will lead the end-to-end delivery of product development for smartphones, audio devices and/or accessories. This role is all about managing the technical process by which Fariphone’s consumer electronic devices are designed and developed. This includes managing timelines, risks, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment to ensure that overarching business objectives are met. As part of the Strategic Delivery Office, you will also play a key role in promoting continuous improvement and building organizational capabilities, to drive consistent, high-quality project outcomes throughout our organization.

  • Drive Strategic Project Execution
Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex, technical and cross-functional NPI projects, from concepting and supplier selection through development, go-to-market and launch. Ensure timely execution, effective risk management, and alignment with organizational goals.

  • Strengthen Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
Champion best practices, drive process improvements, and strengthen project management capabilities to support long-term organizational growth, adaptability and cross-functional collaboration. Provide standardized tools, frameworks, and support to enhance consistency and quality across all initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive the delivery of New Product Introduction projects, spanning one or multiple business lines and involving stakeholders from a variety of disciplines.
  • Own the full project trajectory: define scope, success criteria, and ensure timely execution and delivery. Capture learnings for continuous improvement.
  • Lead day-to-day project operations, including resource coordination, chairing meetings and tackling (technical) bottlenecks.
  • Manage project risks, ensuring accurate assessment and timely mitigations. Use proper lines of escalation when and where necessary.
  • Report (and coordinate reporting from others) to stakeholders and senior leadership on milestones, decisions, deliverables, risks, dependencies, and issues.
  • Mentor colleagues to enhance overall delivery capabilities and organizational maturity. Establish and uphold project management best practices, tools and policies across the organization.
Your Skills & Experience
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field
  • 10 years of working experiencing, including 5+ years of experience in project or program management for product development in the consumer tech industry
  • Track record in developing and launching physical products at a global scale (regulatory, localization, ramp-up)
  • Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall methodologies and tools
  • Strong communication skills in English (oral, written); preference for candidates that are also able to communicate in Mandarin
Skills:
  • Deep understanding of NPI stages: concept, feasibility, prototyping (EVT/DVT/PVT), ramp-up and launch
  • Strong technical and analytical skills to understand constraints and work with project contributors to evaluate trade-offs in both product and business objectives
  • Ability to proactively identify risks across design, engineering, supply chain, quality, and certification trajectories
  • Experience running scenarios and modeling delays and mitigations (for example, design slips, sourcing issues) and able to coordinate between technical and non-technical teams
  • Adaptability; experience working in dynamic environments with shifting priorities; resilient in the face of delays, setbacks, or redesigns
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational capabilities; ability to manage relationships, timelines, budgets
Nice-to-Haves:
  • PMP certification or equivalent
  • Experience managing projects with Jira
  • Master’s degree or additional certifications
  • Experience with process improvement (e.g., Six Sigma) and agile transformation.
