About your role

Fairphone is eager to connect with new audiences and engage our existing follower base through compelling social media initiatives. We’re seeking a social media manager to help us expand our digital footprint and oversee our social communications efforts towards BtoC and BtoB audiences.

In this role, you will implement our marketing and content strategies on social media channels to increase Fairphone’s brand awareness and consideration, maximize follower engagement and leverage brand advocates.

You work closely with the marketing activation team and content managers in executing these strategies across channels like Instagram, Tiktok, YouTube, Linkedin and Fairphone’s forum.

  • You are a self-starter with a positive attitude who likes to be part of an amazing team.

  • You are a digital native, and you stay on top of strategies/trends in social media.

  • You are flexible and love working in a startup/scale-up environment that is fast-paced and defined by change.

  • You are a people person and enjoy collaborating with people from different levels of seniority, cultures and backgrounds.

  • You are a team player with excellent communication skills who is curious by nature and takes ownership.

  • You are able to see the bigger picture and have a keen eye for detail.

  • You feel a strong connection with Fairphone’s vision and values.

  • You (are willing to) live in the Netherlands and have the right to work in the EU.

Your skills & experience
  • You have 2-4 years of experience in running a brand’s social media channels. This includes posting and scheduling content, preferably with social media management and scheduling tools.

  • You have extensive knowledge of current social media platforms and trends.

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a similar relevant field.

  • You have strong analytical skills and experience with social media analytics. You have a passion for making sense of numbers and improving content performance based on these insights.

  • You have excellent (close-to) native English written and verbal communication skills and a passion for turning difficult explanations into clear storytelling. Knowledge of other languages, especially Dutch, German, French are a plus.

  • You know how to create and spread engaging content for social media.

  • You have good organization and project management skills that will come in handy when building campaigns.

  • Experience working with a purpose-driven brand or experience in the consumer electronics industry is a great plus.

Your responsibilities
  • Build and run a strong, engaging social media strategy that you track and optimize accordingly.

  • Manage Fairphone’s social media accounts with the brand story (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) and create engaging content.

  • Develop social media campaigns in collaboration with the marketing activation team.

  • Establish key performance indicators to understand ethe fficacy of existing social campaigns and adjust strategy for further optimizations.

  • Be a strong link between Fairphone and our community forum, as well as supporting to bring the so-called voice of the customer into the organisation.

  • Grow a lively and active community of Fairphone followers/owners who spread the word on our mission of fairer electronics.

  • Support webcare on social channels in close cooperation with our community managers and the customer support team.

  • Stay up to date with new and emerging trends to help keep Fairphone’s social media presence consistently relevant.

  • Develop and execute offline community engagement through events.

  • Maintaining our social media management tool Sprout Social, incl. process improvements, tool adaptation and alignment with the IT team.

  10. AND Bike allowance – we support you with a bike purchase of up to €300, and you’ll have a yearly repair budget of up to €80, too!
