The Netherlands aims to be a circular economy by 2050 but remains entrenched in linear patterns of consumption and disposal. Circular ambitions exist in all areas and sectors, but what we see is a chronic lack of a roll-up mentality. Large companies prefer to guard their short-term interests and hide behind long-term goals. And many small circular initiatives get stuck in the initiation phase. We see a need to break through this and make the leap from a small circular business to a larger movement that facilitates and drives pragmatic reuse nationwide.
